What started as an idea between partners Kwanele and Pat began with a simple mission: to supply comfortable, high-quality, and reasonably priced beds to friends and family.

As word spread across Mzansi, the demand grew rapidly. What began as supplying the occasional bed evolved into a full-scale operation powered by a dedicated, full-time team of skilled artisans and staff. Today, Kwanele Beds & All has grown from modest beginnings into a premier South African furniture store, boasting a beautiful showroom located in the heart of Illovo, Sandton, and our dedicated production line and warehouse in Progress Industrial Centre, 24d 4th st, Wynberg, Johannesburg

2012

Where It All Began

With a small workshop and a big dream, Kwanele Beds was born in a quiet corner of Illovo, Johannesburg. Our founders, passionate about timeless design and honest craftsmanship, started creating handcrafted wooden furniture for friends, family, and local clients.

2014

First Signature Collection

We launched our first full collection: a blend of minimal design and traditional woodworking. It gained attention for its simplicity, quality, and sustainability.

2016

Moving Into a Bigger Warehouse

Thanks to growing demand, we expanded into a larger warehouse. This allowed us to increase production, collaborate with local artisans, and experiment with more materials and techniques.

2018

Custom Design Services Launched

We introduced bespoke furniture services — empowering clients to co-create their own unique pieces tailored to their space, lifestyle, and taste.

2019

Recognition and Awards

Our brand was featured in leading interior magazines and we started being a household name across Gauteng Province..

2020

Navigating the Pandemic with Purpose

Even during global challenges, we adapted. We introduced our Home Office Collection to meet changing lifestyles.

2021

Sustainability Milestone

We achieved a major goal: 85% of our materials became sustainably sourced or recycled. Our packaging also became 100% environmentally friendly.

2022

Flagship Showroom Opened

We proudly opened our first flagship showroom in Progress Industrial Centre, 24d 4th st, Wynberg, Johannesburg. A space to experience our collections in person and meet our design consultants.

Expanding Our Vision

We began offering full interior styling services and partnered with architects and property developers for residential and hospitality projects.
